Iron Infusion

Iron deficiency affects up to 1 in 5 women in the UK and often goes undiagnosed.

Iron is essential for making haemoglobin, the protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen around your body. Without enough iron, your cells don’t get the oxygen they need it’s like trying to run a marathon while breathing through a straw.

Our Iron Infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream, replenishing your levels quickly and effectively.

What Are the Signs of Iron Deficiency?

  • Constant tiredness or burnout

  • Brain fog and trouble concentrating

  • Feeling short of breath or heart palpitations

  • Pale skin or dark circles

  • Hair thinning or loss

  • Cravings for ice, chalk, or unusual textures (a symptom called pica)

Why an IV Infusion?

Oral iron tablets are a common first-line option, but they don’t work for everyone. They can take months to restore your levels and may cause uncomfortable side effects like nausea, constipation, or bloating.

IV iron bypasses the gut, delivering a higher dose straight into your bloodstream. Most people feel significantly better within 1–2 weeks.

Who Is It For?

You may benefit from an iron infusion if:

  • You have diagnosed iron-deficiency anaemia

  • You have heavy menstruation and fatigued

  • You’re recovering from surgery or have heavy blood loss

  • You’re preparing for fertility treatment or pregnancy

  • You’re on a vegan or low-iron diet

  • You’ve struggled with oral iron in the past

Only when your results and medical history confirm it’s safe and appropriate will we proceed with the infusion. This is not a one-size-fits-all treatment it’s tailored to you.

What to Expect

  • The iron infusion is given over 30–60 minutes in our calming IV lounge

  • You’ll be monitored throughout

  • Most people only need 1 or 2 sessions to restore their levels for an entire year

  • You may feel a little tired or flu-like for a day or two after, but serious reactions are rare and we are fully equipped to manage them.

High Dose Vitamin C is a medically-supervised treatment that involves the intravenous delivery of Vitamin C at significantly higher concentrations than standard supplementation. Please Note:

Esteem Life does not offer HDIVC as a standalone therapy.

We provide this service only when prescribed and planned by a specialist who is actively managing the patient’s care.

Safety Requirements:

  • Specialist referral or letter of recommendation

  • Kidney function blood tests and, where appropriate, G6PD testing

POTS IV Therapy

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a form of dysautonomia a condition where the autonomic nervous system doesn’t regulate functions like heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation as it should. POTS is most commonly characterised by a significant rise in heart rate upon standing, often accompanied by symptoms such as:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

  • Fatigue and “crashing” after activity

  • Palpitations

  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

  • Nausea or poor appetite

Many people with POTS find that their symptoms worsen with heat, dehydration, stress, or illness. While management typically includes dietary adjustments, increased fluid and salt intake, compression garments, and medications when needed, IV therapy has emerged as a valuable support tool especially during flare-ups or recovery from exertion.

The Role of IV Therapy in POTS Management

IV therapy has been studied for its ability to stabilise blood volume and support autonomic function. In individuals with POTS, a reduced circulating blood volume is often observed. This low blood volume can contribute to the rapid heart rate and dizziness when upright, as the body struggles to push enough blood to the brain.

Research suggests that intravenous saline improves symptoms by expanding plasma volume, supporting blood pressure regulation, and improving orthostatic tolerance (the body’s ability to stay upright without symptoms).

Since then, both clinical guidelines and patient-led care pathways have acknowledged IV fluids as an effective short-term intervention for symptom control particularly in patients with:

  • Severe daily symptoms despite oral hydration

  • Concurrent gastrointestinal issues impairing absorption

  • Long COVID-related dysautonomia

  • Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) with autonomic involvement

What’s in Our POTS IV (Hydromax)

At Esteem Life, we offer our Hydromax IV, a formula based on the principles of medical-grade rehydration, enhanced with added nutritional support.

Our infusion contains:

  • 1L Isotonic Saline

  • N-Acetyl Cysteine

  • Magnesium

Who Might Benefit?

Hydromax IV may be suitable for individuals who:

  • Have a confirmed POTS diagnosis

  • Experience frequent crashes, fatigue, or dizziness despite high oral fluid intake

  • Are recovering from illness, travel, or exertion

  • Live with long COVID or EDS with autonomic features

  • Are following a specialist-directed care plan and need additional support

Safety Notes

  • IV therapy is not a cure for POTS, but a supportive tool within a broader care strategy.

  • Patients with heart or kidney conditions should be screened carefully before receiving IV fluids.

  • A brief medical consultation is required before your first session.
