Iron is essential for making haemoglobin, the protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen around your body. Without enough iron, your cells don’t get the oxygen they need it’s like trying to run a marathon while breathing through a straw. An iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream to quickly restore low levels when tablets aren’t suitable or effective. You may be eligible if you have proven iron deficiency, can’t tolerate tablets, or need rapid correction. A simple blood test is included to confirm your suitability before treatment.
