What is SoftLift? SoftLift is a non-ablative treatment delivered with the 1570 nm laser on the Alma Hybrid platform. It creates controlled heat within the deeper skin while leaving the surface of the skin intact. What may it help with? SoftLift may be considered for mild lines, early signs of sun damage, uneven texture, dull-looking skin and reduced firmness. It can also form part of a clinician-led maintenance plan between more intensive treatments. Results vary and complete correction cannot be guaranteed. How does it work? The 1570 nm wavelength produces a controlled thermal effect within the skin, supporting gradual collagen remodelling without ablative CO₂ resurfacing. Improvements develop progressively rather than immediately. Suitability A consultation is required to assess your skin, medical history, medicines, previous treatments and goals. SoftLift will not be suitable for everyone, and another treatment or no treatment may be recommended. Treatment and recovery The skin is prepared and appropriate eye protection is used. You may feel warmth or prickling during treatment. Temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling, dryness or sensitivity can occur. Downtime is generally shorter than with ablative CO₂ treatment, but recovery varies. Risks and limitations Possible risks include prolonged redness, pigment change, blistering, burns, infection or scarring, although serious complications are uncommon when treatment is appropriately selected and performed. More than one session may be recommended, and results vary between patients. Aftercare Follow the personalised instructions provided by your clinician. Use gentle skincare and daily broad-spectrum SPF, and avoid excessive heat, strong active skincare and picking or rubbing the treated area until advised.
