Service Description

What is IrisAcne? IrisAcne is an Alma Harmony applicator used for a light-based treatment pathway for selected cases of active acne. It is not the same treatment as ClearLift or Alma Hybrid CO₂ resurfacing. What may it help with? It may help reduce inflammatory acne activity, associated redness and excess oil in suitable patients. Acne has many possible causes, so results vary and the treatment may need to be combined with appropriate skincare or medical assessment. It does not guarantee that future breakouts will stop. How does it work? The applicator delivers controlled light energy to the skin as part of an acne-focused protocol. The aim is to reduce factors associated with active breakouts and support a calmer appearance without ablative resurfacing. Suitability A consultation is required to assess the type and severity of acne, skin type, medical history, medicines, recent tanning and current skincare. Active skin infection, significant photosensitivity or certain medicines may make light treatment unsuitable. Another treatment or medical referral may be recommended. Treatment and recovery The skin is cleansed and appropriate eye protection is used. You may feel warmth or brief snapping sensations. Temporary redness, warmth, dryness, sensitivity or mild swelling may occur. A course of sessions may be recommended according to response. Risks and limitations Possible risks include irritation, a temporary acne flare, pigment change, blistering, burns or scarring. These are uncommon but cannot be excluded. IrisAcne does not treat every cause of acne and cannot remove established acne scars. Aftercare Use gentle skincare and daily broad-spectrum SPF as instructed. Avoid picking the skin, excessive heat, tanning and strong active products until your clinician advises that they can be restarted.
