What is Iris DyeVL? Iris DyeVL is an Alma Harmony applicator that delivers narrow-band intense pulsed light (IPL). It is a light-based treatment, not the same as ClearLift’s 1064 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser or Alma Hybrid resurfacing. What may it help with? Iris DyeVL may be considered for selected superficial pigmentation, sun spots, uneven tone, persistent facial redness and visible small vessels. A consultation is needed because not every pigmented or vascular lesion is appropriate for IPL, and suspicious or changing lesions require medical assessment rather than cosmetic treatment. How does it work? The applicator delivers controlled bands of light that are absorbed by selected pigment or blood-vessel targets. The resulting heat is intended to reduce their visible appearance while cooling supports skin comfort. Suitability Your clinician will assess your skin type, the nature of the concern, medical history, medicines, recent tanning and previous treatment. Treatment may be postponed or unsuitable with tanning, significant photosensitivity, certain medicines, active infection or an undiagnosed lesion. Treatment and recovery The skin is cleansed and appropriate eye protection is used. You may feel warmth or brief snapping sensations. Temporary redness, mild swelling, sensitivity or darkening of treated pigment can occur before it fades. Recovery and the number of sessions required vary. Risks and limitations Possible risks include irritation, prolonged redness, pigment becoming lighter or darker, blistering, burns, infection or scarring. Vessels or pigmentation may persist or recur, and complete clearance cannot be guaranteed. Aftercare Use gentle skincare and daily broad-spectrum SPF. Avoid tanning, excessive heat, picking and strong active products until your clinician advises otherwise. Contact the clinic if you develop unexpected blistering, marked swelling or worsening pain.
