Transplanted hairs commonly shed before new growth develops gradually over subsequent months. Risks and limitations Risks include bleeding, infection, folliculitis, scarring, altered sensation, temporary shock loss, poor or uneven growth, an unnatural direction or hairline, donor-area thinning and dissatisfaction with density.
