Dermalux LED Phototherapy
Non-invasive LED phototherapy using blue, red and near-infrared light for selected skin concerns.
Service Description
What is Dermalux LED Phototherapy? Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is a non-invasive light-emitting diode (LED) treatment. It can deliver selected blue, red and near-infrared wavelengths individually or in a clinician-chosen combination. It does not use ultraviolet light and is not a laser treatment. What may it help with? LED phototherapy may be used to support selected acne pathways, calm the visible appearance of redness or inflammation, and support recovery after some aesthetic procedures. It may also be used for general skin-conditioning goals. It does not diagnose or replace medical treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis or other skin disease. How does it work? Different light wavelengths are absorbed by cellular targets within the skin. The selected protocol is intended to influence processes associated with inflammation, acne-related bacteria or tissue repair. Response varies and visible improvement cannot be guaranteed. Suitability A consultation is required to review your concern, medical history, medicines, photosensitivity and current skincare. Certain light-sensitive conditions or medicines may make treatment unsuitable. Medical assessment may be recommended for persistent, severe or uncertain skin symptoms. Treatment and recovery The skin is prepared and protective eyewear is used. The session is generally comfortable and does not remove or break the skin surface. Temporary warmth, mild redness, dryness, headache or eye discomfort can occur. Most people can resume normal activities, but individual responses vary. Risks and limitations LED treatment cannot correct every cause of acne, redness or skin ageing. Irritation, temporary worsening of symptoms or a photosensitivity reaction may occur. A course may be recommended, but the number of sessions and outcome depend on the concern and response. Aftercare Follow the skincare instructions provided by your clinician and use daily broad-spectrum SPF. If Dermalux follows another procedure, follow the aftercare for that procedure. Contact the clinic if you develop an unexpected or persistent reaction. Book a consultation Arrange a consultation at Esteem Life in Glasgow to confirm whether Dermalux LED Phototherapy is appropriate as a standalone or supportive treatment.
